Enviro Timbers - Specialists in Recycled Plastic Timber Furniture - The Mushroom Farm - Hillcrest - KZN South Africa

Enviro Timbers has worked extensively with Local Schools, The SPCA and the National Quad Para Association.

Our passion for local community and people as well as the environment has led us to set up projects like:

  • Bottle caps are collected by the National Quad Para Association and we use these to make our furniture, the funds they collect go towards new wheelchairs.
  • Our work with The SPCA:  plastic bottles, Handy Andy bottles. Milk Bottles, HTH for your pool, hand sanitizers (no.2 plastics) – funds from collected goods go towards feeding the animals in their care.
  • Local Schools also collect local plastics and swap the plastic for benches for their grounds.

The Recycling Process:

Recycle the present, save the future

We use locally sourced HDPE/LDPE and PP plastic waste and process it into useful recycled plastic furniture.

We manufacture benches, chairs, tables, picnic tables, children’s furniture, planter boxes, and can custom make outdoor products to customer specs.

We are developing new products on an ongoing basis. We manufacture numerous sizes of recycled plastic planks in various colours that can be used in many applications that wood is used for.

Sustainable Process

Plastic is sourced from recycling companies, landfill sites, street traders and hawkers, schools and organizations. Plastic arrives in bales or bags and is then sorted into different catagories and colours.

The plastic is then ground into flakes and washed. Once the plastic is clean it is then dried, mixed and extruded into planks. We have initiatives with the Durban and midlands schools and organizations where we swop plastic for furniture, this is something that is encouraging youngsters to start recycling from an early age.

Waste isn’t waste until we waste it

Our plastic timber furniture outlasts regular timber, it is rot and algae proof, splinter proof, is easy to clean and requires little maintenance, it is also 100% recyclable.

In addition, purchasing a recycled plastic timber product prevents that plastic waste from ending up in rivers, beaches or landfill sites.

One of our 2 seater garden benches contains around 1200 milk/detergent bottles. Our 6 seater picnic table contains around 4000 milk/detergent bottles.
